Manuel Pablo Pace
Manuel Pablo Pace was born in 1977 in a small industrial town on the outskirts of Vicenza, Italy. This is his story: “My childhood is spent covered in blinding neon cloth at my mother Teresa’s dressmaker’s shop. Surrounded by every color imaginable amidst the hum of sewing machines, I draw, cut, paint, destroy, and reconstruct anything I can get my hands on.
In 1991 I begin my studies at the Artistic Lyceum of Valdagno, and five years later I enter the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. After two years there, my overwhelming desire to travel leads me to Spain. I enter my work in two shows at Jerez de la Frontera where I meet my partner Marisol Ebner, a Chilean graphic designer. Our bond is strengthened as we create pieces together.
In 2004, I return to Italy, where I begin to incorporate all that I have seen and lived up to that moment into my art. I work for three years without showing my pieces to anyone until I meet Francisco Stuardo on vacation. He invites me to show my work at his gallery in Santiago, Chile. Under the auspices of the Stuart Gallery, my next show is at the Scope International Art Fair in New York.
When I return from the United States, I move to Bassano del Grappa, enter my work in the International Urban Art Competition (“Infart”), and soon become an Art Director at Ortobotanix. I continue to live in Bassano del Grappa where I develop both personal and collaborative projects as the Creative Director of Studio Atikom”.
